THE MATCHUP
Lyon moved to 27-11 after the series win at Lindenwood-Belleville this past weekend. The Scots currently sit in second place in the AMC standings with a 12-5 record.

Cameron Hockle had a big week last week for the Scots offensively. In just seven at-bats, Hockle collected three hits, drove in eight runs and scored twice. Hockle hit his first collegiate home run – a grand slam – during a midweek contest against No. 9 LSU-Shreveport.

Ryan Porras had another solid outing on the bump for the Scots in the series finale against the Lynx. In seven innings pitched, Porras struck out 10 batters while allowing just two runs on six hits. It is the second time this season Porras has struck out 10 or more batters. Porras struck out a season-high 13 batters in a non-conference game against Randall on Feb. 16.

Jordan Olivera improved his scoreless-inning streak on the mound to 14.1 innings. Olivera tossed three innings of relief during the series at Lindenwood-Belleville. Olivera surrendered two hits during his time on the bump against the Lynx.

FHU enters the week at 27-9 overall and leads the AMC with a 15-2 mark in conference play. The Lions will play a non-conference doubleheader at Martin Methodist today before hosting the Scots on Tuesday.

Collin McPherson and Josh Sears are the top two hitters in the Lions' lineup this season. McPherson leads the team with a .379 batting average, while Sears is just behind him at .378. McPhearson has collected a team-high 47 hits this season. Sears is the person who supplies most of the power for the Lions in their lineup. Sears leads the team with nine home runs and 43 RBI this season.

Alex Huey is top arm on the Lions' pitching staff entering this week. Huey is 6-0 with a 1.97 ERA in 50.1 innings pitched. Huey has struck out 43 batters this season. Jacob Sawyers is another six-game winner for the Lions this season with a 6-2 record on the bump. Sawyers has a 2.94 ER and has struck out a team-high 57 batters in 52 innings pitched.

ALL-TIME SERIES
FHU leads the all-time series against Lyon, 27-16. The two teams split a doubleheader earlier this season on Mar. 11 at Scots Field. FHU won game one of the twin bill, 11-1, before the Scots bounced back to earn a 5-2 victory in game two.

NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following Tuesday's game at FHU, the Lyon College baseball team will return home and host Park in a three-game AMC series this Saturday and Sunday at Scots Field. This weekend's series against Park will open up with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
