NO. 7 GRIZZLIES EVEN SERIES WITH NO. 18 SCOTS

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – After the 18th-ranked Lyon College baseball team earned a 13-6 victory in game one of a three-game series against No. 7 Georgia Gwinnett, the Grizzlies bounced back to even up the series with an 11-2 win over the Scots on Saturday afternoon. The two teams will play the rubber game to decide a series-winner on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. (CDT).

GGC improved to 22-8 with the win, while Lyon slipped to 23-9.

Georgia Gwinnett put up two runs against the Scots in the bottom of the first and added to its lead in the middle innings. The Grizzlies scored 11-unanswered runs with three in the fifth, two in the sixth and four more in the seventh before the Scots responded in the top of the ninth. Dalton Erneststarted the frame with a lead-off double before he came around to score later in the inning on an RBI-single by Andrew Schnitzius. The Scots worked the bases loaded after a single by Brandon Giribaldie which was followed by Jake Michener getting hit by a pitch. Troy Strack worked a bases-loaded walk to plate another run but the Grizzlies worked out of the jam with no further damage.

Schnitzius led the Scots offensively as he finished 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.

Mack Larson suffered the loss as he allowed five runs on 10 hits while striking out two over 4.1 innings of work.
