BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 17th-ranked Lyon College women's basketball team capped off its 2018-19 regular season with an 89-59 win on Senior Day against Lindenwood-Belleville. With the win, the Scots earned the No. 3-seed in the American Midwest Conference Tournament and will host No. 6-seed Lindenwood-Belleville on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals. Lyon ended its regular season at 23-6 (19-5 AMC), while LUB finished at 15-15 (15-9 AMC).

The two teams opened up the game in a shootout as a bucket by LUB's Brianna Mueller put the score at 9-9 just four minutes in. The Scots began to lock down defensively from there and continued to roll on the offensive end. A bucket each by Katie Turner and Madison Riley put the Scots up four before back-to-back three-pointers by Ali Tucker and Marleigh Dodson extended the Scots' lead to seven at 19-12. Lyon extended its lead to nine later in the quarter, but a jumper by Kyndra Morgan with 45 seconds remaining put the score at 23-16 in favor of the Scots after the first period.

An 8-2 run midway through the second quarter gave the Scots their largest lead of the half as Riley intercepted a pass and found Henderson down the court for a fast break layup to give Lyon a 35-20 lead with 3:47 remaining in the half. LUB managed to cut the deficit down to 10, but back-to-back buckets by Samantha French gave Lyon a 42-28 advantage at the break.

Lyon opened up the second half with a strong third quarter as the Scots outscored the Lady Lynx, 26-11, in the third period before the Scots cruised the rest of the way to a 30-point victory.

French paced the Scots offensively with a team-high 22 points, while Henderson chipped in 16. Mueller led all scorers with a game-high 27 points.

After the conclusion of the game on Saturday, the Lyon College women's basketball team honor its five seniors – Ali Tucker, Tressa Linson, Randi Thompson, Samantha French and Oumy Ndoye – as part of its Senior Day celebration.
