Game One: Lyon 7, Northwestern 3
Northwestern College opened the scoring as they scored a run in each of the first two innings. The Scots, would have opportunities in the bottom half of each inning, but Northwestern kept them scoreless heading into the third inning.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Scots broke through. After Megan Micke opened the frame with a leadoff single and stolen base, Faith Cornmessercrushed a no doubt two-run home run well over the left field fence. After singles from Cheyenne Black and Addison Harmon, Anna Beth Conditt executed a perfect squeeze plating the pinch runner, Dakota Smith. This gave the Scots a 3-2 lead heading into the fourth inning.
The fourth inning began with a leadoff double by Kendra Kelley. After a walk to Cornmesser, Kelley came around to score on a wild pitch, doubling their advantage. Harmon, then, delivered a clutch two-out single to plate Cornmesser, giving the Scots a 5-2 lead after four.
The score would remain 5-2 until the sixth inning. Northwestern College got a run of their own as Bri Giordano hit a two-out single to score Emily Bosch, cutting the lead to just two.
Lyon College wasted no time as Micke led off the bottom of the frame crushing a solo home run over the left field fence. After a Cornmesser hit-by-pitch and a Cheyenne Black walk, Harmon delivered a sac fly that scored Cornmesser, making the score 7-3.
In the seventh inning, Katelyn Platt made it look easy as she retired the side in order, earning the Scots a Saturday morning victory. Platt struck out 4 Northwestern batters en route to a complete game win. Addison Harmon paced the Scots with three hits and three RBI's.
Game Two: Lyon 6, Peru State 3
Lyon College started off quickly, scoring two runs in the first inning. After a Faith Cornmesser double and Breanna Langford reached on an error, Addison Harmon delivered a two-out RBI single that put the Scots in the lead. Mikayla Mullen, then, delivered a base knock, which scored Langford, earning the Scots a 2-0 lead.
In the third inning, the Scots would tack on more runs. After a Langford single and a sac bunt by Harmon, Mullen hit a two-RBI single to give the Scots a 4-0 lead. Mullen would come around to score on an RBI groundout by Cheyenne Herrera. Lyon would take the 5-0 lead into the top of the fourth inning.
Peru State, however, would cut into the lead as Tyler Farrell delivered a two-run home run to left center, cutting the Lyon's lead to three. Then, Farrell would hit another home run in the sixth inning, making the score 5-3 Lyon.
The Scots would answer back with an insurance run of their own in the bottom half of the sixth, making the score 6-3.
In the seventh inning, Peru State brought the tying run to the plate, but Faith Cornmesser was too much as she induced a game-ending ground ball, giving the Scots a 6-3 victory Saturday afternoon. Cornmesser struck out nine Peru State batters en route to a complete game victory. Mikayla Mullen led the Scots with three hits and three RBI's in this one.

The Scots travel to Missouri to take on Evangel University at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19.
