COLUMBIA, Mo. – The 17th-ranked Lyon College women's basketball team went up against No. 1 Columbia College in a top-25 matchup on Saturday afternoon. In their final road game of the regular season, the Scots battled close with the Cougars through three quarters, but CC pulled away in the fourth and picked up 73-62 win over Lyon. CC improved to 26-3 (20-3 American Midwest Conference), while Lyon dropped to 21-6 (17-5 AMC). The Scots clinched the No. 3-seed in the AMC Women's Basketball Tournament following Saturday's result.

Lyon and Columbia played to a one-point ball game after three quarters. After a big first quarter by Columbia, the Scots settled in and bounced back into the game and pulled back with one point at 46-45 through three quarters.

The Scots overtook the lead twice in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter after a jumper each by Samantha French and Katie Turner, but a 15-5 run by the Cougars midway through the final period proved to be the difference in the game.

Turner led the Scots with a team-high 15 points, while French chipped in 12 on the night.

The Scots will return home for their final two regular season games next week. The Scots will open up their final home stand on Thursday against Harris-Stowe at 5:30 p.m.
