BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College baseball team opened up its four-game series against Randall University with a 10-2 victory in a weather-shortened game on Friday afternoon. The Scots improved to 6-2 with the win, while RU fell to 2-14.

After a quiet first inning by Randall and Lyon, the Scots scored 10 runs over the next three frames. In the bottom of the second, Alan West scored on a wild pitch, before Ryan Clack plated Darius Anderson later in the inning on an RBI-single.

Lyon added to its lead in the bottom of the third as Dalton Ernest and Troy Strack singled to open up the inning. West, Reese Chovanec and Tristan Buschowworked three straight walks for Lyon which brought home two more runs and extended the Scots' lead to 5-0.

The Scots put the game out of reach with a five-run fourth inning and took a 10-0 lead into the fifth. Randall managed to put across two runs in the frame against the Scots' starter Marcelo Terrazas, but Terrazas struck out the final batter he faced before the game was called due to weather.

Zane Pritchard had a big day at the plate as he finished 3-for-3 with two RBI. The Strack-Clack duo added two hits each in the game for the Scots.

Terrazas improved to 2-1 on the year and earned his second complete-game victory. Terrazas allowed two runs on five hits while striking out four.

Lyon and Randall will return to action on Saturday morning as the two teams will open up a tripleheader beginning at 10 a.m. at Scots Field
