SHREVEPORT, La. – The Lyon College men's basketball team had its three-game winning streak snapped at No. 11 LSU-Shreveport on Tuesday night as the Scots fell victim to a hot-shooting Pilot team, 98-59. LSUS improved to 7-1 overall, while Lyon fell to 6-2.
LSU-Shreveport came out hot as the Pilots knocked down their first three three-pointers of the game. The Pilots finished the game shooting 52.2% from beyond the arc (12-of-23) and 62.1% from the field (36-of-58). Gilbert Thomas finished with a double-double for the Pilots as he scored a game-high 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Lyon College shot 40.7% from the field for the game (24-of-59). Winston Peace finished as the top scorer for the Scots with 15 points, while Faris Verlasevic added 10.
The Scots will home on Dec. 3 to host Williams Baptist in American Midwest Conference action at 7:30 p.m. for Ugly Christmas Sweater Night.
