CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's wrestling team fell to University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon, 41-10. The dual took place at the Alexander-Boreham Tennis Center.
The Scots are now 0-1 overall, while University of the Ozarks improves to 1-0.
After University of the Ozarks won by forfeit in the 125, 133, and 141 pound division, Carlos Cuevas took the mat against Jaylen York. In a hard-fought match, York defeated Cuevas, 12-4, giving the Eagles an early 22-0 lead.
In the 156 pound weight class, Roger Gasmann squared off with Liam Neal. Gasmann dominated the match, 13-3, cutting into U of O's lead.
The Eagles would respond with a pair of victories over Jonathon Gray in the 165 pound weight division and Derrick Top in the 174 pound weight class.
Next up for the Scots was a showdown between Bruce Whitehead and Lance Robinson. Whitehead executed flawlessly, en route to a pin of Robinson, earning the Scots six points.
In the final two weight classes of the afternoon, University of the Ozarks's Montana Doty defeated John Bentley and the Eagles' Cameron Oliver fended off Noah Wilson by a score of 3-2. This gave the University of the Ozarks a 41-10 victory over the Scots on Saturday.

Lyon will travel to Missouri to compete in the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open on November 9th.
