PARAGOULD, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team traveled to Paragould, Arkansas, to square off against Crowley's Ridge College tonight. The Scots made quick work of the Lady Pioneers, cruising to a 3-0 victory (25-20, 25-22, 25-21).
Lyon improves to 12-9 on the season and 3-3 in the American Midwest Conference, while Crowley's Ridge College falls to 4-17 overall.
GAME FLOW
The Scots sprinted out to an early 9-6 advantage in the first set. The Lady Pioneers fought back to retake the lead at 13-12. However, Lyon immediately responded as the visitors from Batesville went on a 9-1 run to take a commanding lead at 21-14. The Scots would go on to close out the frame, 25-20.
One of
Maria Eleni Bampiri's six kills on the night gave Lyon an early 5-1 edge in the second stanza. While the Scots trailed 18-13 later in the set, Lyon never looked rattled as the visitors saved their best volleyball for the most important time of the match. The Scots won 12 of the next 16 rallies to storm back and take the second set, 25-22.
Both teams exchanged leads through the middle of the third frame. With the score knotted at 20 apiece, the Scots put together another run to complete the sweep. Lyon clinched the win on an ace by
Elizabeth Bairett.

WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE SCOTS
Lyon gets back to conference action this weekend as the Scots battle Harris-Stowe State University on Friday and No. 1 Missouri Baptist University on Saturday. Both matches will take place inside Becknell Gymnasium. Friday's match will begin at 7:00 p.m., while Saturday's contest will start at 1:00 p.m.
