BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College women's soccer team used a second-half goal from
Darby Blaylock to pick up a 1-0 victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Monday.
Lyon moves to 6-7 overall, 3-5 in the AMC, while St. Louis College of Pharmacy falls to 0-6-2 overall, 0-5-2 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
The Scots generated chances in the first half, but were unable to get on the board in the first 45 minutes. As the halftime whistle sounded, the match remained scoreless. Lyon outshot STLCOP, 10-1.
The match remained knotted at zero until the 76
th minute.
Tabetha Troxler made a terrific pass to a
Darby Blaylock in the box. Blaylock struck a shot past the outstretched arms of the keeper and into the back of the net, giving Lyon a 1-0 lead. The Eutectics would attempt to respond with a goal of their own. However, the defense of the Scots was exceptional all afternoon and Lyon defeated STLCOP by a score of 1-0 Monday afternoon.
