BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's soccer team used two first-half goals and four second-half goals to defeat St. Louis College of Pharmacy by a score of 6-1 Monday afternoon.
Lyon moves to 10-4-1 overall, 6-1-1 in the AMC, while St. Louis College of Pharmacy falls to 0-7-1 overall, 0-6 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
The Eutectics got on the board first as Alec Johnson scored his first goal of the season in the 10
th minute. The Scots answered back just seven minutes later.
Marcos Fernandez started the counter attack and made a nice lead pass to
Thei Tlo. Tlo, then, found
Raimundo Cabello who struck a shot into the back of the net, knotting the match at one. In the 23
rd minute,
Sebastian Musiet delivered a pass to
Marcos Fernandez who rocketed a shot past the keeper and into the top of the net, giving Lyon a 2-1 lead. The score would remain 2-1 in favor of Lyon as the halftime whistle sounded.
The Scots opened the scoring up just four minutes into the second half.
Estiven Garcia delivered a cross into the box for a cutting
Rafael Santos. Santos struck a shot into the back of the net for his fifth goal on the year. In the 69
th minute, the Scots earned a free kick.
Marcos Fernandez took the set piece and sent a perfect shot into the top corner of the net, giving Lyon a 4-1 lead. The Scots would tack on two late goals as
Raimundo Cabello scored a goal in the 84
th minute, while
Bruno Mariscotti used a diving header to score his goal in the 85
th minute, earning Lyon a 6-1 victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Monday.
