The Spartans blitzed Lyon in the second frame as MBU won the first 12 rallies to take a 12-0 advantage. The Scots found their rhythm in the middle stages of the set to quickly cut into the deficit, 17-11. However, the Spartans won eight of the next 12 points to claim the second set, 25-15.

The third stanza was similar to the first two sets with the visitors getting off to another fast start to take a 10-2 advantage. Later in the set, two consecutive Kendra Kelley aces brought the Scots within five points, 17-12. MBU, though, extended their lead as the top-ranked Spartans won the third set, 25-17, and match, 3-0.
