BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College women's soccer team used a second-half goal by
Kimberly Fretwell to pick up a 1-0 victory over Williams Baptist University on Tuesday.
Lyon moves to 5-5 overall, 2-3 in the AMC, while Williams Baptist University falls to 1-8 overall, 0-5 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
Both sides generated chances in the first half, but were unable to get on the board in the first 45 minutes. As the halftime whistle sounded, the match remained scoreless. Lyon outshot WBU, 7-6.

Hailey Gonzales delivered a terrific lead pass to
Kimberly Fretwell. Fretwell took one touch and struck a shot just outside the box that rocketed into the back corner of the net, giving Lyon a 1-0 advantage. The Eagles would attempt to respond with a goal of their own. However, the defense of the Scots was exceptional all afternoon and the Scots defeated WBU by a score of 1-0 Tuesday afternoon.
