BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Lyon College women's basketball junior guard Madison Riley secured her name in the history books as she became the 18th player in program history to score 1,000 career points as the 18th-ranked Scots rallied from behind and earned a 69-56 win on the road over Lindenwood-Belleville on Monday night. With the win, the Scots improved to 13-3 (9-2 American Midwest Conference), while LUB dropped to 7-11 (7-5 AMC).

It was a tale of two halves on Monday night for the Lynx and Scots. Lindenwood-Belleville shot nearly 62-percent from the field in the first half but cooled off in the second, shooting 27-percent from the field. The Scots shot 39-percent in the first half but found their grove in the second half and shot 59-percent from the field over the final two quarters.

The Lynx broke a 5-5 tie in the first quarter with a 9-0 run and took a 16-8 lead over the Scots after the first 10 minutes. After Lindenwood-Belleville extended its lead to 11 midway through the second quarter, the comeback began for the Scots. Ali Tucker started the rally with five straight points before Katie Turner hit a jumper followed by a three-pointer by Liz Henderson. The Scots pulled back within three at 29-26 after a jumper by Riley with 1:33 remaining, but the Lynx responded with the final four points of the quarter to take a 33-26 advantage.

After the two teams exchanged buckets to open up the third quarter, Tucker sparked another rally with a jumper just inside the arc. Riley followed the basket by Tucker with a jumper of her own before Henderson netted five straight points for the Scots to give Lyon a 42-40 advantage. The Lynx responded with a 9-2 run to grab a 49-44 lead before Samantha French trimmed the deficit to three with a layup just before the end of the quarter.

It was all Lyon the rest of the way as the Scots outscored the Lynx, 23-7, over the final 10 minutes to earn the comeback victory.

Riley paced the Scots offensively as she finished with a team-high 20 points. Henderson added 17 points, while French recorded her fifth double-double of the season as she recorded 15 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Brianna Mueller finished with a game-high 26 points to lead LUB.

The Scots will return to action on Saturday when they welcome Hannibal-LaGrange to Becknell Gymnasium for an AMC matchup at 1 p.m.
