BATESVILLE, Ark. – The 19th-ranked Lyon College basketball team rolled past Missouri Baptist to open up its six-game home stand as five Scots – Ali Tucker, Katie Turner, Madison Riley, Samantha French and Liz Henderson - scored in double figures in a 101-62 win over the Spartans on Saturday afternoon inside Becknell Gymnasium. The Scots extended their current winning streak to eight games and improved to 8-1 (5-0 AMC), while MBU dropped to 3-8 (2-5 AMC).

The Spartans kept up with the Scots throughout the first quarter as a three-pointer by Caroline Rogers gave MBU a 16-15 advantage. The Scots quickly regained the lead after a jumper by Tucker put Lyon ahead by one, 17-16. Katie Turner accounted for the final four points of the quarter as the Scots took a 21-16 advantage over the Spartans at the end of the first period.

Lyon began to run away with the game at the start of the second quarter as a bucket each by French and Alexis Moore opened up a 19-0 run. The Scots held the Spartans scoreless in the quarter for nearly seven minutes until a three-pointer by Rose Wassef at the 3:04 mark broke the drought for MBU. Tucker would push the Scots' lead to 26 points after a three-pointer and a layup after a steal. Tucker poked another ball away just before the end of the half and went coast-to-coast to give Lyon a 50-23 lead at the break.

Lyon extended its lead to as many as 41 points in the second half as the Scots cruised to the 101-62 victory.

Tucker finished the game 8-of-8 from the field, including 5-of-5 from three and finished with a game-high 21 points. Turner chipped in 14 points, while Henderson and Riley added 13 points each. French posted her fourth double-double of the season as she finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Nicole Griesenauer led the Spartans with 14 points.

The Scots will now turn their focus to Monday night when they welcome St. Louis College of Pharmacy to Becknell Gymnasium for another American Midwest Conference game at 5:30 p.m.
