GAME FLOW
Lyon sprinted out to an early 7-4 advantage, forcing Stephens to burn a timeout and stop the momentum. After the timeout, Lyon continued their efficient play on offense and defense to the tune of a first set victory, 25-15.
In the second frame, the Scots roared out to an 11-4 lead. However, the Stars would rally to win the next seven points, knotting the score at 11 apiece. Lyon would counter by going on a quick 4-0 run, giving the Scots a 15-11 lead. Lyon would extend their lead the remainder of the second frame, clinching the second stanza on one of Michayla Shanks's 13 kills on the evening, 25-15.
In the third set, Stephens College took an early 6-1 advantage over the home squad. However, Lyon would battle back, winning the following 7 points to take an 8-6 lead. The Stars would tie the third frame 10-10, but the Scots would again take the lead. This time, Lyon would never relinquish the lead, winning the third set, 25-17, and set, 3-0. With this victory, Lyon secures a spot in the AMC Tournament next week.
KEY STATISTICS
- Madisson Williams was terrific defensively, tallying a match-high 21 digs.
- Michayla Shanks led Lyon with 13 kills on the evening, while Gracen Ratliff and Kendra Kelley each registered 8 kills.
- Kaitlyn Jackson led the Scots in assists (17) and aces (2) tonight, while Ellie Embry recorded 16 assists.
- The Scots overpowered the Stars in kills 44-25 and committed 15 fewer errors than the visitors.

Tomorrow, Lyon will hold senior day against No. 4 Columbia College. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Becknell Gymnasium.
