In the first set, the home squad from St. Louis sprinted out to a 14-5 advantage. However, Lyon would find its rhythm near the end of the first frame as the Scots cut the deifict to one, 24-23, following a kill by Destiny Nunez (assisted by Ellie Embry). STLCOP, though would earn the set-clinching point as Lynsey McCord registered one of her 8 kills on the afternoon.
The Scots dominated the second set, jumping out to a 16-8 advantage midway through the stanza. Lyon would continue their terrific defense and aggressive hitting, winning the set by a score of 25-19, following one of Gracen Ratliff's team-high 14 kills.
Lyon carried the momentum they gained from the second game into the third set, taking an 11-3 lead after a block by Jordan Davis and Gracen Ratliff. The Scots would hold a comfortable lead the rest of the set, taking a 2-1 advantage into the fourth stanza.
The fourth set was a back and forth affair. With the score tied 17-17, STLCOP rattled off 8 of the next 10 points to win the set and force a winner-take-all fifth set.
The Eutectics jumped out to an early lead, but the Scots would quickly answer. Lyon fought all the way back to tie the score 13-13. However, two straight kills – the first by Mackenzie Wagner and second by Sierra Sagucio – clinched the set and match for STLCOP.
KEY STATISTICS
- Gracen Ratliff accumulated a team-high 14 kills, while Maggie Saad recorded her career-best 13 kills on the afternoon.
- Ellie Embry tallied her career-high 32 assists in the match.
- Madisson Williams totaled a team-high 25 digs.
- Kaitlyn Jackson tallied her third double-double of the year, recording 23 assists and 11 digs.
- STLCOP edged the Scots in digs 107-97.

Lyon Volleyball returns home for the final two regular season matches of the season Nov. 2-3. On Friday, the Scots will compete against Stephens College at 7:00 p.m. The following day, Lyon will hold senior day against Columbia College. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
