GAME FLOW
Lyon roared out to an 11-6 advantage early in the first set. WBU fought back, cutting the deficit to one on two separate occasions. However, the Scots never surrendered the lead as the home team would win the first set, 25-19.
Williams Baptist University got their star outside hitter, Audra Nailling, more involved in the second frame. Nailling compiled 14 kills in the second stanza, leading WBU to a 26-24 set victory.
With the score tied 1-1, the Eagles took an early 11-9 lead in the third set. However, the Scots rattled off six straight points to hold a four point cushion. Lyon kept their momentum going, winning the third set by a score of 25-18.
In the fourth stanza, Lyon jetted out to a 16-9 advantage after a kill by Katherine Jeane, assisted by Kaitlyn Jackson. Thanks to WBU's terrific defensive play and timely hitting, the Eagles would get back into the set, cutting the Scots lead to 22-21. However, the Scots were up to the challenge as Kendra Kelleycompiled two straight kills to distance the Scots from the Eagles. Lyon would seal the conference victory on an attacking error by a WBU Middle Hitter, Bridget Park.
KEY STATISTICS
- Kaitlyn Jackson was terrific setting all night as she compiled a career-best 28 assists.
- Maggee Hobson tallied a season-high 15 kills, while Gracen Ratliff and Michayla Shanks both recorded 11 kills.
- Madisson Williams amassed 29 digs, while Ellie Embry totaled 22 assists and a game-high 4 aces.
- Michayla Shanks was impressive tonight as she recorded her fifth double-double of the season, tallying 11 kills and 10 digs.
- The Scots edged the Eagles in kills 56-49 and bested WBU in aces 11-7.

WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE SCOTS
The Scots will stay at home to face Freed-Hardeman University in a pivotal conference match in Becknell Gymnasium tomorrow. The match between the Scots and the Lady Lions will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
