Cumberland University
This was the second match of the day for the Phoenix after they battled Robert Morris University earlier this afternoon. The Scots and Cumberland battled throughout the first set. However, the Phoenix used terrific setting and powerful hitting to win the set 25-18.
Cumberland University held a small lead throughout the early stages of the second set, but the Scots stormed back to take a 21-20 lead. Lyon extended their lead to 24-22 off a kill from
Michayla Shanks, assisted by
Ellie Embry, but the Phoenix won two straight points to tie the set at 24 apiece. The Phoenix would eventually take the set 28-26.
The third set was another back and forth affair. While the Scots recorded 13 kills in the third, CU narrowly won the third set 26-24, to sweep the Scots.
University of St. Francis
This 7:00 p.m. start was the second match of the day for both the Fighting Saints and the Scots. Lyon battled with the University of Saint Francis throughout the first set, taking the first 26-24.
The Fighting Saints got off to an early lead in the second set, and held the advantage the rest of the way, winning 25-19.
In the third set, USF continued their momentum they gained from the second set. The Fighting Saints used excellent defense and timely hitting to defeat the Scots in the third set 25-20.
The fourth set was another highly competitive match. The Scots and USF exchanged leads throughout the set, until the score was tied 20-20. The Fighting Saints would rattle off three straight points to take a 23-20 advantage. The Scots tried to fight back, but it was not Lyon's day as the University of St. Francis won the fourth set 25-22, and match 3-1.

- The Phoenix edged the Scots in kills 45-40 and blocks 8-4.

- Madisson Williams etched 16 digs and 2 aces.

Gracen Ratliff turned in another strong performance as she totaled a team-high 10 kills.

Michayla Shanks had an all-around impressive match as she tallied 9 kills, 10 digs, and a game-high four aces.
- The Fighting Saints totaled 8 more kills and 7 more assists than the Scots.

WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE SCOTS
The Scots compete in the second day of the Eutectics Classic tomorrow in St. Louis, Missouri. Lyon will face Robert Morris University at 11:00 a.m. and University of St. Mary at 1:00 p.m.
