Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

WILLIAMS RECORDS 2,000 DIGS, SCOTS SPLIT VS. RMU, USM

GAME FLOW
Robert Morris University

The Scots came out aggressive in this match, registering 20 kills to take the first set 25-22. In the second set, Lyon continued their powerful hitting and impressive defense, en route to a 25-16 game 2 victory. The Eagles would regain their composure and win the third set 25-21. The fourth set was a back and forth affair. Both teams exchanged leads, but RMU would edge the Scots 25-23 to tie the match at 2-2, setting up the pivotal fifth set.

In the fifth set, Lyon wasted no time in sprinting out to an early lead. The Scots looked like the better conditioned squad as Lyon was flying all over the court defensively, sniffing out the Eagles attacks. Led by Michayla Shanks's third double-double of the season, Lyon won the decisive fifth set 15-7, and match 3-2.

University of St. Mary
This match was the second match of the day for both units. In the first set, the Spires jumped out to an early 12-6 lead. They would never relinquish that lead as they won the first set 25-16. The second set was eerily similar to the first as USM gained an early 13-5 advantage. The Scots would rally to cut the deficit to 24-20. However, the Spires would win the following point to take a 2-0 lead.

The third set was the best set of the match for the Scots. Lyon used excellent setting and 17 kills to win the third set 28-26. USM rebounded in the fourth set, though, to defeat the Scots 25-16.
