Lyon College head softball coach Taylor Kuhn has named Maylie Corbitt as her new assistant coach in Jan. 2021. Corbitt comes to Lyon with nearly 10 years of experience as a pitching instructor.

Since 2013, Corbitt has been giving pitching lessons to a number of different girls in the 7-18 age range. As a pitching instructor, she looks at the different biomechanics in certain parts of the pitch in order to help the pitchers get the most out of their bodies when pitching. She spends a lot of time researching and learning ways to improve pitching motion while making sure no injuries occur. She also currently has over 50 girls that she gives lessons to, along with having worked remotely with over 100 online student-athletes.

Corbitt played collegiately at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. During her playing career, she was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete and an All-GAC Scholar-Athlete. She was also named to the Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll.

Corbitt serves as the Firecrackers Arkansas 14U Pitching Coach and runs her own private lessons business called Spin It to Win It – Elite Fastpitch.
