Lyon College

Jessica Mattia enters her second year as the assistant softball coach at Lyon College.

Before Lyon, Mattia was the assistant softball coach at Delaware State University. While at Delaware State, Mattia oversaw the pitching staff, prepared post game scouting reports and executed fundraising efforts for the university's program. 

Prior to Delaware State, she was a volunteer assistant at her alma mater Virginia State University in 2014. There she was responsible for overseeing the strength and conditioning practices and participated in community service projects.

Mattia played softball at Virginia State where she was the All CIAA Co-Pitcher of the Year from 2012-2014 and team captain. She was also the 2014 CIAA and Virginia State University Female Athlete of the Year.

Mattia graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Science from Virginia State. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in Kinesiology at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas.
