Michael Brookshire is entering his third year at the helm of the Lyon Men’s Soccer program and 13th year coaching soccer overall heading into 2014-15.  Brookshire led the Scots to a 13-3-2 season in 2012 and a third-place finish in the American Midwest Conference with a 6-1-1 mark. Lyon was 6-9-4 in 2013, placing 7th in the 11-team race with a 3-4-3 record.
  
Brookshire is a 2003 graduate of Hannibal-LaGrange, earning a B.A. in History and a Minor in Communications. He graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Honors program. Bookshire went on to earn his Masters of Science in Recreation and Sport Sciences with an emphasis in Coaching Education from Ohio University in 2012.

Brookshire was a four-year letter winner at Hannibal LaGrange, playing outside midfielder.  In his senior year in 2001, Brookshire was selected as an American Midwest Conference First Team All-Conference midfielder, earning Second-Team All-Region V the same year.  Brookshire went on to work with the team as an assistant coach in 2002.
 
He became head men and women's soccer coach at North County Christian School in St. Louis from 2003-07, helping the women's team to a second-place finish at the Missouri State Tournament in 2007. He was also voted Coach of the Year by the Twin Rivers Christian Activities Association in 2006 and 2007.

Brookshire returned to Hannibal-LaGrange in 2007 where he served as the assistant men’s soccer coach, goalkeeping coach and head men’s and women’s golf coach.  During his tenure at HLG, Brookshire helped the men’s soccer team reach the NAIA national tournament twice (2008, 2011) while capturing two AMC regular season and conference tournament titles. 
 
In addition to leading the Scots’ soccer team Brookshire is entering his third year as a state coach with the Arkansas ODP program.

Brookshire has earned his NSCAA National Coaching License and a level three National Goalkeeping License and has been a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the past seven years.
 
Coach Brookshire resides in Batesville, with his wife Harmony and their three children.
