Joe Haynes began his collegiate coaching career in the summer of 2016 and serves the Scots' program as the defensive line coach.
A 2002 graduate of Newport High School, Haynes was a two-sport athlete, participating in football and track. He was also a four-year participant in the R.O.T.C. program during high school.
He went on to college at Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Ark., earning his B.A. Degree in Teaching in 2007 and his Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University in 2016.
Haynes has spent 10 years coaching in the high school ranks throughout Northeast Arkansas. He worked at Brinkley, Batesville, Southside Batesville and Newport School Districts. He served as defensive coordinator (Southside, Brinkley) and Special Teams Coodinator (Batesville, Southside). He has also coached linebackers, offensive line, wide receivers and defensive backs.
Haynes is married to his wife, Margaret, and they have two children, Jalen and Mikala.
