David Carr

The 2023 season will mark David Carr’s second as the offensive line coach for the Lyon Football program. Carr is a graduate of Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia and gained his MS from West Virginia University in 2007. His is a United States Navy Veteran and is coming to Lyon College from Lamoni, Iowa.
 
Carr started, serving on the staff at George Mason University as an offensive line coach where he coached seven All-Seaboard Conference Offensive Lineman and was a part of a conference championship in 2000. From there, Carr became the assistant head football coach and offensive line coach at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland and then to Shenandoah University center and guards coach in 2003.
 
Carr returned to Shepherd University as the tight ends coach from 2004 to 2006. He went to Norfolk State University as the tight ends coach and later went to the high school ranks as co-offensive coordinator at Westbury High School. He was the offensive line coach and running backs coach at Southeast Prep Post Grad Academy in Houston, Texas and he became the offensive line coach at The Kinkaid School. He worked as an offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for USA Eagles and spent time at St. Pius High School in Houston.
 
Carr moved back to the college ranks in 2015 by accepting a position as tight ends and full backs coach for Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. He moved to Waldorf University as the offensive line coach and became the running backs coach for Central Methodist University in 2017.
 
Most recently, Carr was at Graceland University as an offensive and defensive line coach.
