Lyon College

Brice Kensey is excited to join the Lyon College football program as the Wide Receivers Coach for the upcoming season. This will be Brice's first year with Lyon, bringing his passion for the sport and his wealth of experience to the team.

Before joining Lyon, Brice served as a graduate assistant coach with the Lakeland football program, where he also played as a wide receiver. In his final year, Brice had an outstanding season, making a significant impact on the field. Despite missing the first three games due to injury, he caught an impressive 75 passes for 1,035 yards and 12 touchdowns in just seven games. Brice's outstanding performance earned him the honor of being named a first-team all-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference selection. He became only the third player in Muskies history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season.

Over his career at Lakeland from 2017 to 2021, Brice proved himself to be a consistent and valuable player. He recorded a total of 153 receptions for 2,077 yards and 20 touchdowns, placing him sixth in school history for career receptions and seventh in receiving yards. Brice's achievements on the field earned him a place among the top eight players in Lakeland history to exceed 2,000 yards receiving in their collegiate careers.

Brice hails from New Orleans, Louisiana, and earned his degree in sport management and leadership from Lakeland University. His commitment to academic excellence was recognized when he received the NACC Scholar-Athlete Award.

In addition to his football prowess, Brice is known for his hard work, ambition, and leadership skills. Throughout his life, he has been involved in various sports, but his passion for football has allowed him to develop into the leader he is today. Brice's experience as a player has given him a deep understanding of the game, enabling him to read defenses, play strategically, and predict outcomes. He possesses a strong foundation in football fundamentals, including route running, throwing motion, stance and starts, and cone drills.

Off the field, Brice is dedicated to making a positive impact in his community. He has volunteered at Joe Brown's 7-on-7 Camp, where he mentored elementary school children, organized events, and facilitated quarterback and wide receiver training sessions. 

Brice's journey in sports management and coaching started at Lakeland University, where he pursued his passion for the field. With a focus on coaching and an emphasis on sports management, Brice completed courses such as Intro to Sports Management, Sports Marketing, and Sports Management Leadership, further fueling his love for the industry.

As the Wide Receivers Coach at Lyon College, Brice Kensey is determined to bring his knowledge, experience, and dedication to help develop a strong and successful football team. His leadership, hard work, and ambition make him an invaluable addition to the coaching staff and an inspiring mentor to the players.
