Abilene, TX – The Scots men's soccer team secured a strong road victory over the Hardin-Simmons University Cowboys. Lyon found the back of the net in both periods of play to push past a strong Cowboys squad. With the win, the Scots improve to 1-1-1 to start the season.
The Scots recorded 14 shots, with six finding the target.
Tiago Donadon continued his strong performance, tallying four shots, two shots on goal, and one assist.
Inaki Terra added three shots, including two on goal.
Roman Magnanelli and
Matheus Nunes each recorded two shots, with Nunes adding a shot on goal and a goal.
Micah Rangel also found the back of the net.
Felipe Nocchi started in goal for the Scots and made one save in the first half, while
Preston Telfer came on in relief in the second half and recorded a shutout with four saves.

Tiago Donadon that forced several saves. After falling behind briefly in the 34th minute, Lyon immediately responded just twenty-seven seconds later when
Micah Rangel drilled home an equalizer off an assist from
Matheus Nunes to shift momentum. After a strong team effort, Lyon was able to successfully lock down a hard-fought 1-1 draw heading into the halftime break.

Preston Telfer anchored the defense after entering at halftime, engineering a sensational performance with four critical saves to completely shut down Hardin-Simmons' attack. Offensively,
Tiago Donadon continued to drive the Scots' momentum, creating multiple dangerous looks before executing a pass to set up the game-winning goal at the 63:19 mark, which
Matheus Nunes finished to put Lyon ahead 2-1. Defensively,
Salvador Fernandez,
Roman Magnanelli, and
Tomas Biasi remained disciplined under heavy pressure, ensuring a completely clean second half.
