Batesville, AR - Lyon College Director of Athletics Kevin Jenkins announced today that six standout alumni will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame during the annual banquet on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026.

The 2026 induction class includes standout athletes Michael Bowles ('16, Football), Griffin Glaude ('15, Baseball), Ashten (Welch) Stueve ('16, Softball), Stephanie (Spiteri) Malta ('15, Women's Soccer), and Savannah (Graham) Hayes ('14, Softball), alongside Carl Garner Meritorious Service Award recipient Ricky Davis ('80), owner of the local Batesville Sonic and Slim Chickens franchises. The celebratory evening will kick off with an appetizer and beverage reception at 5:45 p.m. in Edwards Commons, followed by the official banquet and induction ceremony at 6:30 p.m. in Patterson Dining Hall.

Stephanie (Spiteri) Malta - Women's Soccer 
Among the inductees is Stephanie Spiteri, of Hayward, California, a standout goalkeeper for Scots women's soccer during the 2011-2014 seasons and graduate of the 2015 class. Spiteri, who also served as team captain from 2013-14 was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Assocation of America (NSCAA) as a member of the Contenital Tire National Assocation of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-Midwest Region Team in 2014. She was also honored by the American Midwest Conference (AMC) being named an All-Conference player in 2012 & 2013, being honorably mentioned in 2014 and was named Academic All-Conference in 2012 & 2014. For her dedication, sportsmanship, and attitude she was honored with the Winnie Marable Award by the Lyon College Athletic Department in 2015. 

Spiteri holds multiple records in goal for the Scots, recording a program best 35 wins, 19 shutouts, and 417 saves over the course of her career. She holds the seasonal record with 8 shutouts in 2013 and is third with 11 wins in a season during the same year. She also holds the program record for most saves in a single game with 24 total. 

"Having had the opportunity to coach Stephanie Spiteri at Lyon College, one of the things I remember most about her was her constant desire to improve," said former Scots women's soccer coach Ben Parman. "Stephanie was never satisfied with simply being good—she continually set high goals for herself and was willing to put in the work necessary to achieve them. That mindset carried over into everything she did, both on and off the field. She was competitive, driven, and always looking for ways to become a better player, teammate, and person. Her commitment to excellence set an example for those around her as a leader and made a lasting impact on our program. Seeing Stephanie inducted into the Lyon College Hall of Fame is a tremendous and well-deserved honor, and I am incredibly proud to have been a part of her soccer journey."

Following her years at Lyon, she went on to earn a Masters of Business Administration from Golden Gate University. She is currently a Project Manager Gilead Sciences, residing in the San Franciso Bay Area with her husband, they welcomed their first child Jonathan in 2025. 

Savannah (Graham) Hayes - Softball
A member of the class of 2016, Savannah Hayes, of Keiser, Arkansas, was an essential member of Scots softball during the 2013-2016 seasons. Hayes was honored by national organizations such as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), earning a spot on the All-Southwest Region Team in 2016. She was also recognized by the American Midwest Conference (AMC) being named First Team All-Conference in back-to-back years in 2015 & 2016, named an Honorable Mention in 2014, and awarded Academic All-American Midwest Conference in 2013, 2015, and 2016. 

In the course of her college career Hayes left her mark on the program, holding multiple all-time and seasonal accolades. A master on the bags she holds the program record of 50 stolen bases in a season (2016), is second in career hits with 180, and placed second with 91 stolen bases in her career. She holds the fourth place spot in career total bases recording 211, sits fourth in career triples with 8 total, and is eleventh in career batting average hitting .331. Hayes is holder of the fourth place for triples in a season (2013) with four and sixth in stolen bases in a season (2014) with 22. 

"I am extremely excited for Savannah's selection into the Lyon College Athletics Hall of Fame," said former Scots softball coach Elliot Sampley. "As a four-year starter, she helped build the foundation of our program into a national ranked program.  Finishing second in the nation in stolen bases in 2016, her elite speed set the table for our offense every time she reached base.  She is so deserving of taking her place among Lyon's best."

After graduating from Lyon, she went on to earn a master's in biological sciences from the University of Arkansas, Ph.D. in Science Education from Texas Christian University, and a completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Houston. She is currently the Manager of Curriculum at Space Center Houston where she resides with her husband Jack Hayes '16.

Ashten (Welch) Stueve - Softball 
An outstanding member of Scots softball Ashten Welch, of Browns Valley, California, blazed a trail on the field during the 2015-16 seasons and as Student Assistant Coach in the 2016-17 seasons. Welch earned accolades being honored by the American Midwest Conference (AMC), being named Second Team All-Conference and All-Conference Honorable Mention. 

Welch etched her name throughout the Lyon Scots softball record book, ranking among the program's all-time leaders in numerous career categories. She ranks third with 27 wins, fourth with a 3.00 ERA, fourth with 45 starts, fifth with 258.2 innings pitched, fourth with 168 strikeouts, and is tied for second with nine shutouts. She also ranks among the program's single-season leaders for her outstanding 2016 campaign, tying for fourth with 15 wins, recording the fifth-lowest ERA at 2.58, tying for fifth with 25 starts, and posting seven shutouts.

"I couldn't be happier for Ashten on her selection into the Lyon College Athletics Hall of Fame," said Sampley. "She was a fierce competitor whose impact was felt immediately; she was a huge part of turning our softball program into a nationally ranked program in her very first year.  Her dedication, drive, and relentless competitive spirit set a standard for excellence, and no one is more deserving of taking their place in Lyon College's Hall of Fame."

Since leaving Lyon, Ashten has gone on to become a Senior New Business Representative for the Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E). She resides in the Greater Sacramento area raising cattle with her husband Tyler and sons Henry "Hank" and Carter. 

Griffin Glaude - Baseball 
A member of the class of 2015, Griffin Glaude, of Beebe, Arkansas, was a key member of Scots Baseball during the 2014-2015 seasons. Glaude earned national recognition from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and the NAIA, being named an All-American for his play on the mound and honored as the national Pitcher of the Week during the 2015 season. He earned numerous conference awards within the AMC including being named First Team All-Conference in 2014 & 2015, a AMC Gold Glove for play at Short Stop in 2014, AMC Pitcher of the Year in 2015, and honored as Pitcher of Week three times during the 2015 season.  For his dedication, sportsmanship, and attitude he was honored with the Dick Winningham Award by the Lyon College Athletic Department in 2015. 

During his time on the diamond he played his way into the top ranks of several career categories. He holds the top spot in ERA with 1.44, shares first place with 5 shutouts, is second in winning percentage with .786, third in batting average with .396, and is fourth strikeouts per nine innings with 11.5. He holds multiple single season records for his play in 2015, holding the first place spots for shutouts (5), lowest ERA (0.56), strikeouts per nine innings (13), as well as being second in strikeouts (116). He also earned Triple Crown in pitching during this season leading the AMC in ERA (0.56), wins (8), and strikeouts (116). 

After graduating from Lyon, he went on to a career in Minor League Baseball playing in the Toronto Blue Jays system reaching AAA. Retiring from Baseball in 2017, he went on to work as an Estimator/Project Manager with Jacksonville Steel before taking a role with Eli Lilly as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep. Currently he works as a National Sales Executive at Jolly Roofing in Memphis, TN. He resides in Southhaven, Mississippi with his wife Talor Glaude, daughter Lynnleigh, son Jag, and has another baby on the way (Due 11/25/26). 

Michael Bowles - Football 
The most explosive running back in school history, Michael Bowles, of Earle, Arkansas, was a standout member of Scots football during the 2015-2016 seasons. He earned national recognition being at one time being ranked 3rd overall in rushing across the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). He was also recognized by the Central States Football League being named a 1st Team All-Conference Player in 2015 & 2016.

Bowles etched his name up and down the record book, earning the top spot in several categories. He is the first overall in career Rushing Yards recording 2,888 yards, rushing touchdowns with 18 total, and holds the record for most rushing yards in a season with 1,457 yards. He holds the majority of spots for over 100 rushing yards in a single game including the top spot with 253 yards on 9/17/16. He is within the top five in Career categories such as being second in total offensive yards (2,888) and fourth in points scored (122). Bowles also holds seasonal records such as being  2nd in rushing yards with 1,431 (2015), 3rd rushing touchdowns with 10 (2016), 5th in points scored 74 (2016), and total offensive yards with 1,457 yards (2016). 

Ricky Davis - Meritorious Service

While Ricky Davis, Class of 1980, didn't play varsity sports during his time at what was then Arkansas College, few individuals have impacted modern Lyon Athletics more profoundly. A highly successful entrepreneur owning dozens of Sonic Drive-In franchises across the region, Davis has poured his success directly back into his alma mater. Serving as a member of the Board of Trustees, Davis and his family funded the state-of-the-art electronic scoreboards at Scots Field and inside Becknell Gymnasium, fundamentally elevating the game-day environment for student-athletes and fans alike. 

Kevin Jenkins, Director of Athletics said that "Ricky has proven time and again that he is a great friend of Lyon athletics and the college. His support and donations have created a professional, high-quality environment that serves our student athletes and fans alike, embodying the loyalty and spirit of the Scots.Ricky Davis's service has left a lasting mark on Lyon College Athletics".
