Batesville, AR – Scot's men's soccer keeps continuous pressure on Principia College Panthers defense to secure a strong 3-1 victory. With the result, Scots are now 3-3-1.
Matheus Nunes led in shots for the Scots with seven and put three on target with one goal.
Micah Rangel recorded one shot with one on target and one shot finding the back of the net.
Remigio Montesdeoca also put a goal on the board for the Scots. In net, Henrique Miguel made a total of four saves.
In the first half, Scots displayed high focus and physical intensity during a highly competitive, scoreless first half.
Henrique Megale anchored the Scots' backline, tracking the ball through heavy traffic to secure a save in the nineteenth minute and keep the Panthers off the scoreboard. Offensively,
Matheus Nunes continually unraveled the opposing defense, registering two dangerous shot attempts, including a sharp strike on target that forced an early save.
Pol Torres also added to the attacking pressure, launching a shot attempt late in the period. Physical defensive battles resulted in an early yellow card. Going into the second half, Scots and Panthers stayed tied at zero.
