Scots Show Resilience in 3-1 Loss to Eagles

Batesville, AR - Your Fighting Scots women's soccer team fell to the University of Ozarks Eagles (AR) 3-1 after a hard fight. Lyon is now 0-3 on the year.

The Eagles held a 23-9 advantage in shots, while the shots-on-goal totals were 8-7 in the Eagles' favor. The Scots withstood several Eagles attacking stretches with the match tied at 1-1 going deep into the second half. Jessica Steele converted a penalty kick that equalized the match, and Sydney Wolf finished with five saves.

Steele converted a penalty kick at 11:58 to bring the Scots even at 1-1 after the Eagles opened the scoring on Caroline McCaslin's goal. The Scots absorbed pressure after Jasmine Goodrum's red card at 22:59, with the Eagles missing the ensuing penalty kick and Wolf making three saves later in the half. The teams went into halftime tied 1-1.

The Scots kept the second half level at 1-1 through a stretch of Eagles pressure, with Wolf making a save at 72:23, but a goal scored at 75:57 put the visitors ahead 2-1. Earlier, the Scots generated three shots in less than six minutes, with Lilly Barr and Steele forcing saves from Ozarks goalkeeper. The Eagles added a goal at 86:19, and the Scots were held scoreless in the half as the match ended 3-1.
