Batesville, AR - The 2026 Lyon football season in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference is almost here, and the Scots have ranked tied fourth in preseason polling. 

Texas Lutheran University leads the pack with 34 points and four first-place votes. Close behind is Hendrix in 2nd with 32 points and two first-place votes. Coming in third is Centenary College receiving 18 points, tied in 4th is Lyon and Austin College both with 17 points. Gallaudet University placed 6th receiving 8 points total. 

Senior Grayson Johnson (quarterback) and Kohen Phifer (offensive lineman) have been named to the SCAC Players to Watch list. During the 2025 season, Johnson posted over 1300 yards the fifth most in the SCAC and Phifer was recognized for his play being named All-SCAC First Team. 

Scots will kick off the season at home facing East Texas Baptist University on Saturday, September 5th at 4:00 PM in Bad Boy Mowers Stadium.
