Scots fall to Ozarks

Batesville, AR - Your Lyon Scots just couldn't find a way as they fell in both games (12-2,12-1) to the University of Ozarks Eagles. Scots are now 3-15 on the year.

In Game 1, the Scots would let up two runs early with a runner coming home on the throw and a passed ball allowing another score. Down 2-0, Scots would make a push through two innings but come away short only recording one hit from Sophia Varela. The Eagles would go onto score nine runs in the top of the third and definitively take the lead, 11-0. Ozarks would add another in the fifth to take their lead to twelve. Scots would score their only run as Brekiyah Edwards drove in Taylor Gongre to make 12-1. Scots would attempt a rally with Onhrie Bergmann reentering the game to run for Edwards. Bergmann would get to third on a single from Varela, but Anna Voth would strike out to end the first game. Game 2 started well, with only one run being scored by Ozarks through four innings. But the Eagles came alive scoring eleven runs off hot bats to take the lead 12-0, errors by Scots infield contributed. In the bottom of the 5th Kori Cox would record a single, Kaylee Payne would then come in to run for Cox. Payne would steal second and third, while two Scots were struck out. Voth would bring Payne with an RBI single, 12-1. With runners in scoring positions, Scots would fall as Varela ground out.

Scots will begin their slate of SLIAC conference games. Starting this Saturday, March 28th as they face the Eureka College Red Devils in a double header starting at 12:00 PM.
