Scots rally for two come-from-behind victories against Westminster

Batesville, AR – Falling behind early in both games, Scots storm back to make two significant comeback wins against the Westminster Blue Jays. Scots propel to 10-5 on the season and stay undefeated in conference play.
 
Game 1
Lyon College 15, Westminster College, 13
In a thrilling come-from-behind victory, Scots overcame an early double-digit deficit to defeat Westminster 15-13. After trailing 11-0, the Scots' offense ignited in the third inning with a two-run home run from Ashton Compton. The momentum continued in the fourth as Caleb Collins and Eli Marcotte each drove in two runs to narrow the gap. Trailing 13-7 entering the bottom of the eighth, Lyon exploded for eight runs to take their first lead. Jarius Edwards sparked the rally with an RBI triple, and Marcotte added another RBI before Braden Bramlett tied the game with a clutch two-run single. Tyler Hahn then delivered the decisive blow, a towering three-run home run to seal the comeback. On the mound, Jonah Wilkerson earned the win with three innings of one-run relief, while Parker Paschal secured his second save by navigating a scoreless ninth inning. Hahn and Collins led the hitting attack with two hits apiece, while Marcotte and Hahn combined for six RBIs to propel the Scots past the Blue Jays in game one.

In another resilient performance by the Scots, Lyon College secured an 11-9 comeback victory over Westminster on game two of the day. After falling behind early, the Scots' offense found its rhythm in the third inning with a solo home run from Braden Bramlett, followed by a Tyler Hahn solo shot in the fourth. The momentum shifted significantly in the sixth inning when Lyon exploded for five runs, highlighted by Jarius Edwards' RBI triple and run-scoring hits from Slade Inman, Ashton Compton, Bramlett, and Hahn to tie the game at 8. Despite the Blue Jays reclaiming a narrow lead in the eighth, the Scots responded immediately in the bottom half of the frame. Hahn delivered the decisive blow with a two-run single to put Lyon ahead, and Edwards added a critical insurance run with an RBI double to center. On the mound, Thomas Irwin earned the win after providing 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, inducing a game-ending groundout to seal the victory. Offensively, the Scots outhit Westminster 18 to 12, led by three-hit performances from Compton, Bramlett, Kooper McCoy, and Hahn, who also finished with a team-high four RBIs.
 
Scots return for the series finale tomorrow at 12:00 PM.
