Reed charges ahead, in Scots win over Red Devils 87-43

Batesville, AR - The Lyon College men's basketball was dominant, taking the lead and never giving it back in energetic win over the Eureka College Red Devils, 87-43. Excellent performances from Stephen Reed, Trevon Taylor, and Kenneth Brown drove the Scots to victory tonight. Lyon is now 14-6 on the season and 9-3 in SLIAC Conference play. 

Lyon set the tone early, building momentum on both ends of the floor to take control of the game from the opening tip. The Scots shot 45.7 percent from the field in the first half and used steady defensive pressure to force turnovers and generate transition opportunities, carrying a 42–24 lead into halftime.

The Scots showed no signs of slowing down after the break, outscoring Eureka 45–19 in the second half.  Where they continued to attack the paint, move the ball effectively, and capitalize on defensive stops, stretching the lead to more than 40 points late in the contest.

Stephen Reed led Lyon with a game-high 20 points while adding four steals, three assists, and three rebounds. Trevon Taylor posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Kenneth Brown also scored 15 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Cameron Brown and Brody Tucker each contributed six points off the bench as Lyon finished with 32 bench points.

Lyon shot 47.1 percent from the field for the game and connected on 10 three-pointers, while holding Eureka to just 25.4 percent shooting. The Scots also held a 44–20 advantage in points in the paint and scored 27 points off turnovers.

Scots look to take tonight's energy into the weekend as they face the Blackburn College Beavers this Saturday, February 7th at 3:00 PM in another contest.
