St. Louis, MO – Scots take an early road trip to St. Louis to face the Gorloks of Webster University. Webster got the jump on the Scots coming out of the first half and would maintain their lead until the end. Scots ultimately fall to the Gorloks 69-77 and are now 13-6 on the season.
Trevon Taylor led the way with amassing 24 points.
Stephen Reed led the team in rebounds with 10 and six assist.
Xavier Sorrell was able to grab three steals.
Lyon College faced a significant deficit against the Webster Gorloks in the first half, trailing 49-32 by the break.
Trevon Taylor was a primary offensive force for Lyon, scoring multiple jumpers and a key three-pointer, often assisted by
Stephen Reed.
Kenneth Brown also contributed a jumper, a three-pointer, and free throws. Early in the half,
Xavier Sorrell made a layup, and
Hudson Rogers added a layup and a three-pointer, keeping Lyon competitive momentarily.
Camron Williford came off the bench and added a layup assisted by Reed. Despite these efforts, turnovers proved costly, with Sorrell, Williford, and Taylor each committing several in the first twenty minutes. Reed was solid from the free-throw line, sinking several important shots to chip away at Webster's growing lead as the half concluded. Lyon struggled to contain Webster's inside scoring, allowing the Gorloks to build a substantial lead going into halftime.
Lyon College fought hard in the second half but ultimately couldn't overcome the deficit, falling to the Webster Gorloks 77-69.
Stephen Reed started the half strong with a steal and a three-pointer, keeping Lyon within striking distance.
Kenneth Brown and
Trevon Taylor continued their offensive output with key layups and jumpers, often assisting each other.
Camron Williford provided bench support, sinking two crucial three-pointers late in the game to bring the score closer.
Cameron Brown made a free throw after a foul.
Xavier Sorrell contributed defensively with steals, but the team continued to struggle with turnovers against a persistent Webster defense. Despite closing the gap to six points in the final minutes, the Gorloks maintained control, securing the win.
