St. Louis, MO – In the second round of the SLIAC men's basketball tournament, Scots faced a tough Mississippi University for Women team who set the tone early creating a large deficit going into halftime. Scots would fight back but would fall to the Owls 58-80 ending a tremendous season.
Stephen Reed scored 15 points, two steals, and a team high of seven rebounds.
Trevon Taylor recorded 13 points, a team high of three steals, and one assists.
Camron Williford was able to put down 11 points and a team high of two assists.
In the first half against the Owls, Scots faced many challenges, quickly falling behind to a dominant Owls team.
Stephen Reed led the Scots with 9 points, converting two key layups in the paint and adding three free throws.
Trevon Taylor contributed 6 points from two successful layups.
Camron Williford scored a single jumper for 2 points, while
Xavier Sorrell also added a jumper for 2 points.
Kenneth Brown was limited to just 1 point from a free throw.

Cameron Brown combined for a total of 1 point. The Scots struggled offensively, shooting only 25.93% from the field and missing all seven of their three-point attempts in the first half. Lyon went into halftime trailing significantly, with a score of 22-43.
In the second half, Scots showed improved offensive rhythm but could not bridge the massive gap created by MUW. The Scots outshot their first-half performance, hitting 38.89% of their field goals and finding their first success from beyond the arc.
Trevon Taylor led the second-half charge, scoring 13 of his total points through aggressive play in the paint.
Stephen Reed remained a consistent force, adding several layups and finishing as the team's high scorer with 15 points. Late in the period,
Brody Tucker provided a spark off the bench, hitting two quick three-pointers in the final minute of play.
Camron Williford and
Xavier Sorrell also contributed multiple baskets to keep the score moving. As time wound down in the second half, the deficit from the owls was too large for a comeback. Ultimately, the Scots season would come to an end with a final score of 80-58.
