Scots fly past the Blue Jays in a strong 63-57 victory

Fulton, MO – Scots continue their conference charge at Westminster with a strong outing getting the victory by a score of 63-57. Scots are now 12-4 on the season with a 7-1 conference record.

Trevon Taylor led the Scots in scoring putting up 18 points and led the team in rebounds with 10. Kenneth Brown followed close behind with 17 points, two blocks, and three steals. Xavier Sorrell  added three assist to the scorebook.

Scots fought valiantly in the first half but found themselves trailing Westminster 24-22 after a fiercely competitive opening period. The Scots scoring attack was a balanced effort, with several players stepping up in crucial moments to keep the game tight. Kenneth Brown ignited the offense with several dynamic layups and a key jumper late in the half, finishing with 8 points.
Trevon Taylor added 6 vital points, including a fastbreak layup and an emphatic dunk that brought energy to the floor. Xavier Sorrell got Lyon on the board early with two timely layups, and Kennedy Warren added a jumper and a fastbreak layup of his own. Despite battling hard and keeping the pressure on the Blue Jays, Westminster maintained a narrow lead for the majority of the half. Stephen Reed contributed from the free-throw line and Camron Williford provided a big layup, ensuring Lyon stayed within striking distance as the first-half buzzer sounded.

In a thrilling second half comeback, Lyon dominated play to secure a 63-57 victory over Westminster. After tying the game immediately at 24-24, the Scots exploded into a 13-point lead at one stage. Trevon Taylor was an offensive powerhouse, scoring an additional 12 points in the half through an array of layups, a jumper, and free throws, finishing the game as the top scorer with 18 points.

Kenneth Brown was also instrumental, adding 9 points, including a crucial three-pointer and several free throws to extend the lead. Xavier Sorrell maintained his effective inside presence with several more layups. The Scots defense tightened, with key blocks from Taylor and Brown, while Stephen Reed and Camron Williford helped seal the victory with vital free throws down the stretch.
