Lyon's women's track and field ranked 6th in SLIAC poll

Batesville, AR - For the 2026 season, Lyon College women's track and field has been voted to finish 6th in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference pre-season poll. 

Lyon received 29 points for 6th place coming ahead of Westminster (20), Blackburn (15), and Eureka (13). 

Greenville was voted to finish 1st with 64 points and eight first-place votes. Voted to finish 2nd is Principia with 57 points and one first-place vote. The Mississippi University for Women earned the 3rd place spot with 47 points, while Webster placed 4th with 41 points. Coming in 5th and receiving 38 points was Spalding. 

Lyon returners include Lana Ballard and Samantha Love. Ballard scored in the 400 meter and Love scored in the high jump. All-Conference Runner Brooklynn Collins is set to transition from cross country to the track. 

The 2026 season begins on Friday, January 30th at 2:00 PM in Elsah, IL at the Principia Relays.
