Eureka, IL – The Scots start hot against the Eureka Red Devils but as time was winding down in the final moments, the Red Devils were able to tie it up and send the game to overtime. Lyon finished the game on top in a 84-79 victory. With the overtime win, Scots advance to 10-3 on the season

Stephen Reed led the Scots in scoring 26 points. Reed also led the Scots in steals with six. Trevon Taylor had a team high of 11 rebounds. Xavier Sorrell helped out with four assists. Kenneth brown knocked a total of three shots down.

Facing a close battle with Eureka, the first half ended tied at 35-35. The first twenty minutes featured three lead changes and nine ties. Kenneth Brown scored the first points for Lyon with a layup assisted by Xavier Sorrell. Early on, Lyon players like Sorrell, Stephen Reed, and Kennedy Warren traded baskets and turnovers with Eureka. Reed was instrumental in keeping Lyon competitive, notably making a layup after a fast break and stealing the ball from Eureka players multiple times. Trevon Taylor also contributed significantly, making layups and free throws, while collecting key rebounds on both ends of the floor. The first half saw various. Jaaron Harriott made a key free throw to push the lead to 10 points at one stage. As the half neared its end, Eureka tied the game, but crucial free throws by Reed kept Lyon in it, sending the teams into the locker room deadlocked at 35 points each.

The second half saw Eureka dominate, outscoring Lyon 43-34 and forcing the game into overtime after finishing the period tied 69-69. Lyon started the half strong, with Xavier Sorrell making a layup assisted by Stephen Reed to push the lead to 11 points. However, Eureka fought back, tying the game multiple times. Reed's free throws were crucial for Lyon in maintaining their position. Kennedy Warren, Jaaron Harriott, and Trevon Taylor made key shots and assists. Georges Archer made a steal and a fast-break layup to put Lyon back in the lead. A block by Kenneth Brown on a Eureka layup attempt kept the pressure on. With just over a minute left, the score tied at 66-66, Sorrell and Warren made jump shots to keep pace with Eureka. Reed's free throw with 5 seconds left tied the game at 69-69, sending it to overtime.

In overtime, Xavier Sorrell started the scoring with a layup assisted by Trevon Taylor, giving Lyon an early lead in the extra period. Eureka tied the game at 79-79, but Stephen Reed and Kennedy Warren sank crucial free throws to rebuild the Lyon lead. A block by Brown on a Eureka layup attempt and a subsequent steal by Reed sealed the win for Lyon.
