Batesville, AR - Scots women's soccer will host the Spalding University Golden Eagles to open St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play this Saturday, September 27 at 10:00 AM.
Currently, with eight games played Webster University leads the SLIAC with a 6-2 record. Spalding sits in second place with a 5-3-1 record. Blackburn and Westminster College are tied in third place with each having records of 3-4. Your Lyon College Scots sit in fourth, recording a 2-3 result after five games played. Eureka College places fifth with 3-5 as their record and Greenville University with one more loss (3-6) lands at sixth. Principia College is in seventh with a record of 1-3 and Mississippi University for Women is in last place with a record of 0-6-1.
Scots are coming off a great victory last week over the Central Baptist College Mustangs 2-0. Stat leaders for the Scots over five games played are
Lilly Barr who leads the team in goals (3), shots (7), and shots on goal (6). In goal,
Millie Beller leads the team with a total of 12 saves.
Spalding are also coming off a victory, beating Mount St. Joseph 1-0. Over nine games the Golden Eagles stat leaders are Emma Livingston who leads her team in goals (5), shots on goal (12), and shots (27). Sophie Young-Neawedde is the top goalkeeper for the Golden Eagles with a total 28 saves on the year.
The Fighting Scots are currently 0-1-1 all time to Spalding with their previous meeting coming last in Louisville, KY with the match resulting in a 1-1 tie.
