EDINBURGH, Indiana - The Lyon College Scots men's golf team came back after a record-setting round on Monday to finish one stroke out of second place on the final day of the SLIAC Men's Golf Championships at Timberlake Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Scots had a team total of 868 overall. MUW finished first with a 853 and Lake Forest finished just ahead of Lyon College with an 867. As a team on Day three, the Scots shot 291 which placed them in third out of 13 teams in the tournament.
It was sophomore standout
Ryan Kriz' day in round three.
Kriz shot a three-under 69. He had back-to-back birdies on holes 12 and 13 and birdied 16. The rest of his card showed him parring holes 1 through 11, 14 and 15, then 17 and 18 to finish the back nine with a 33.Â
Brooks Vangilder came in with a one-under 71 for the day. He birdied holes one, seven and 16. He had pas on holes two, three, four, six, eight, nine, 10 through 15, and 17.Â
Michael Winne shot a three-over 75 for the third round. Winne birdied holes four and eight. He parred holes one, two, three, five, seven, nine, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.Â
John
Blake Turner shot a four-over 76 for the third day. He birdied holes 10 and 16. He parred holes one through eight, 11, 14, 15 and 18.
Manav Perfecto birdied holes five and 18 in round three. He parred holes one, two three, seven, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16nto finish with a 5-over 77.
Individually, Vangilder finished fourth of 63 with a three-day total of 213 (79-63-71).Â
Kriz was sixth overall with a three day total of 215 (73-73-69).
Turner was 10th with a three day total of 218 (76-68-72).
Winne was 18th with a three day total of 224 (77-72-75).
Perfecto was 33rd with a three day total of 232 (77-78-77).
