FULTON, Missouri - The Lyon College baseball Scots dropped a 7-2 decision to the Westminster Blue Jays in a non-conference game in Fulton.
The Scots (18-20) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Eli Marcotte reached on an error and scored when
Ashton Compton grounded out. Marcotte raced to third and the ball was over the bag and out of play for him to score easily.Â
Marcotte homered in the top of the third inning to put Lyon College up 2-0.
However, Westminster came back with six runs in the bottom of the third inning. Then the BLue Jays added a homer in the bottom of the fifth to lead 7-2.
The Scots had only three hits in the game. Marcotte had one and
Braden Hendrix had two hits.
Tyler Davis started the game on the mound for Lyon College and pitched 2.1 innings. He gave up to hits and five runs.
Patrick Babcock came in to pitch 3.1 innings. He gave up four hits and two runs and had four strike outs.
Carter Sprague came in for 2.1 innings and allowed one hit and struck out one.
The Scots will be on the road to Principia College for the final SLIAC doubleheader of the season.
