BATESVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College Men's Golf team defeated the Hendrix Warriors in dual match-play action at the Course at Eagle Mountain on Thursday.
The Scots A team finished with a total of 307, which was 14 strokes ahead of second place Hendrix A with 321. Lyon B shot a team total of 347 for third place and Hendrix B shot a 355 for fourth place.
Individually, John
Blake Turner, who led all scorers, had the low score of a three-over-par 75. He birdied hole number six, seven nine and 11 for a 37 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine.Â
Ryan Kriz was second for the scores with a four-over 76. Kriz had birdies on one, 14 and 18. He shot a 39 on the front nine and trimmed two strokes off on the back nine with a 37.
Michael Winne and
Manav Perfecto both shot six over for the dual. Winne birdied nine and 18 to finish with a 78, while Perfecto had a birdie on hole number 13 and also finished wth a 78 with consistent 39s on the front and back nines.Â
Brooks Vangilder had a birdie on hole seven and finished the day with an 83.
Lyon's B team was led by
Robert Hopper with an 82.
Wes Lange was second with an 84.
Ace Sibley shot an 89 and
Alex Gleason had a 92 on the day.
The Scots will be playing next Monday and Tuesday at Cypress Creek Golf Course in Cabot for the Central Baptist College Invitational.
