Williford leads the way as Scots takedown the Ozark Eagles

Batesville, AR - The Lyon College Scots secured a solid home victory over the University of the Ozarks Eagles, winning 70-53. The Scots improved their impressive record to 7-1 overall and remain undefeated in conference play and at home.

The Lyon College Scots had several players who stood out in their 70-53 victory over the Ozarks Eagles. The most impactful player was Camron Williford, who led the entire game in scoring with 22 points coming off the bench. Trevon Taylor was the top rebounder for Lyon, securing 11 rebounds. Defensively, Xavier Sorrell was exceptional, leading the team with 4 blocks and an outstanding 9 steals. Trevon Taylor and Camron Williford were among those who contributed 1 assist each. The Scots' bench was a major advantage, accounting for 33 of their 70 total points.

As the first half gets underway, Stephen Reed made some early steals, and Kenneth Brown scored some good layups inside the paint. Trevon Taylor sank a 3-pointer at the 14:32 mark to extend Lyon's lead to 4-9. Camron Williford contributed with several layups and a key steal in the first half. Late in the half, the Scots capitalized on free throws, with Reed and Williford each hitting crucial shots, helping Lyon maintain their advantage heading into the break. The first half was a tight battle, ending with Lyon holding a narrow 33-24 lead into halftime.

Lyon College expanded their 33-24 halftime lead in the second half, ultimately outscoring Ozarks 37-29 in the period. Key plays included Kennedy Warren extending the lead with an early layup and Kenneth Brown assisting a jumper to maintain a 10-point advantage. The Scots' defense held strong with crucial blocks from Xavier Sorrell, while Camron Williford dominated offensively off the bench with numerous layups and free throws. Trevon Taylor's dunk further solidified the lead, and Stephen Reed closed out the scoring from the free-throw line, securing Lyon's 70-53 victory and preserving their undefeated conference status.
