BATESVILLE, Arkansas -
Colbie West scored 19 points and
Kylon McCullough added 17 points to lead the Lyon College Scots past the Fontbonne Griffins 93-76 on Thursday afternoon at Becknell Gymnasium.
The Scots (7-5, 4-1) led 43-31 at halftime and outscored the Griffins 50-45 in the second half. Other double-figure scorers included Jonzelle Bush with 12 points and five rebounds,
Frank Toney added 11 points and had six assists, and
Kennedy Warren scored 10 points on five-of-five shooting from the field.
Luke Bridges added eight points,
Malik Madison had six points,
Jackson Midyett added six points, while
Brody Tucker and
Isaiah Sweetwine had two points each.
John Paul Morgan had six rebounds, while
Tucker Cunningham, Trent Bell,
Hudson Rogers and
Gavin Brunson also contributed to the victory.
Lyon College shot 51.4 percent from the field, made 8-of-21 three-pointers and was 11-for-11 at the free throw line against Fontbonne.
The Scots had 52 points in the paint, scored 14 points off of 10 Griffins turnovers, had nine second chance points, scored 17 points off of the fast-break and got 10 points from the bench.
The game was tied three times and there were two lead changes early in the first half.
A three-point play from Bush with 8:34 left in the game gave the Scots their largest lead at 31 points, 79-48.Â
