Lyon College men's basketball loses at Greenville 121-116

GREENVILLE, Illinois - Colbie West scored 31 points and had 12 rebounds, Malik Madison had 23 points, Kylon McCullough scored 16 points, John Paul Morgan put in 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Frank Toney added 13 points, but the Lyon College Scots lost at Greenville 121-116 on Saturday afternoon in SLIAC men's basketball action.

The Scots (10-7, 7-3) trailed 67-53 at halftime, but outscored Greenville 63-54 in the second half and came within two points late in the game. 
Others to score for Lyon College were Kennedy Warren with four points, Hudson Rogers had six points, Tucker Cunningham had three points, Johnzelle Bush put in two points, Trent Bell had two points and Brody Tucker put in two points. Luke Bridges played in the game, but did not score. 

The Scots shot 58.6 percent from the field, but made 1-of-9 three-pointers and 33 of 44 free throws. 
They scored 80 points in the paint, had 21 points off of turnovers, scored 19 second chance points, had 15 fast break points and got 29 points from the bench.
The score was tied twice and there were seven lead changes, all in the first half.

Warren scored the game's first basket to put Lyon College up by two points, then West added a free throw and Toney made a layup for a 5-1 lead. McCullough hit a free throw and Madison put in a layup for a Lyon College 8-1 lead. West made a layup to put the Scots up by nine points, 10-1 at the 17:13 mark of the first half.
Greenville came back to tie the game at 13-13 three minutes later. Morgan made a two free throws to put the Scots in front, but Greenville hit a three-pointer to go up by one, 16-15. Bush got a tip-in to put Lyon College back in front, but Greenville took the lead.
McCullough made a layup with 11:23 to go in the half for a one-point Scots' lead 23-22, then he added two free throws, but Greenville tied the game 25-25 on a three-pointer.
West's layup with 9:38 to go in the first, put Lyon up 29-28, but Greenville went on a 9-0 run to retake the lead.
The Scots trailed by as much as 20 points three times late in the first half. Hudson's layup for Lyon with 17 seconds left made it 67-53.

The Scots came back and at the 17:19 mark of the second half, Warren hit a jumper to close the game to two points, 70-68. A little over two minutes later, Madison got a dunk to make it a one-point game, 73-72. 
At the 13:54 mark, Toney hit a three-pointer to make it one-point game again, 78-77. However, the Scots went down by as much as 15 points midway through the second half, but made another run.
Toney made tow free throws with 1:36 to go in the game to close the gap to two points, 117-115 and with 46 seconds, McCullough put in a free throw to cut the lead to three points, 119-116.
