ABILENE, Texas -- The Lyon College football team heads to Texas for the program's first SCAC conference match-up.
The Scots are coming off a historic 48-28 victory at Grinnell College last Saturday, and will be hitting the road in week two for an evening kickoff against SCAC foe, McMurry University. The Warhawks are coming off a week 1 match-up against Southwestern University (TX), which saw them drop the game 24-20 to the Pirates.
Last season, the Scots went head-to-head with McMurry on the gridiron for the first time. A game that resulted in a 52-14 victory for the Warhawks.
The Scots look to turn that result around in 2024, as they will be bringing in a stifling defense that held Grinnell to seven points in the entire second half last week. Along with that, the Scots will be rolling out the reigning SCAC Offensive Player of the Week in fifth-year senior running back
Jaylin Babers, who's coming off an impressive 181-yard and two-touchdown performance against Grinnell.
The game will kickoff from Wilford Moore Stadium in Abilene at 6:00 PM.
