BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Lyon College Scots men's soccer batted to a 1-1 tie with Howard Payne University on Saturday night in Brownwood, Texas.
The Scots (0-1-1) fell behind in the first seven and a half minutes on a first-half penalty kick, 1-0. However, in the second half,
Joao Barros kicked in a low-scoring goal on a penalty kick at the 76:10 mark of the second half to tie the match 1-1.
Lyon College had eight shots and half of those were on-goal attempts. Those shots came from
Erik Oliveira,
Filipe Santana de Oliveira,
Mathes Nunes, and Barros were all on-goal with Barros getting the tying shot.
Lucas Crivilatti was in the game for 89 minutes playing strong defense in the backfield with
Tomas Garzon and midfielders
Micah Rangel and
Nate Peterson. Thomas Biasi was on defense for 81 minutes and stopped attempts from Howard Payne to score.
Josh Eckhart played the entire game and stopped both shots on goal.
