BATESVILLE, Arkansas - Lyon College softball defeated the Mission University Patriots in a double header played on Howard and Mary House Field. In between the games the Scots had a celebration to recognize their two graduating seniors McKenzie Campbell and Mya King.

In game one The Scots defeated the Patriots 7-1. Olivia Orf's three-run homer in the first inning set the pace, followed by Mary (MK) Duffield's three-run homer in the third. Duffield also drew a crucial walk in the fifth inning, adding to Lyon's lead.
Defensively, Lyon held Baptist Bible to just one run, with pitcher McKenzie Campbell striking out ten batters and allowing only two hits. Key defensive plays from players like Anna Voth and Trinity Arrambide contributed to Lyon's solid performance.
In game two no runs were scored up until the offensive onslaught began in the fifth inning when Baptist Bible scored their first run. Lyon quickly responded. Sydney Lasher's single, coupled with an error by the right fielder, allowed Lyon to tie the game. Jacey Holder's double to left center then drove in two more runs, giving Lyon a decisive lead. Olivia Orf's double added another run in the same inning, further solidifying Lyon's dominance by three runs.Â
Campbell's bunt in the sixth inning sparked an opportunity for pinch runner Christinia Jeter to score, extending the Scot's lead. Later Skylar Foreman grounded out to the shortstop, executing a sacrifice play that allowed Campbell to score from third base.
Pitcher Georgia Holzer delivered a solid performance, allowing just one earned run while striking out one batter. McKenzie Campbell also contributed with a flawless relief pitching stint, ensuring Baptist Bible's offense remained stifled. The Scots won game two 6-1.
