Scots fall to Greenville 129-116

BATESVILLE, Arkansas - Kylon McCullough scored 29 points and had 11 rebounds for a double-double to lead the Lyon College Scots in a 129-116 SLIAC loss to the visiting Greenville Panthers on Thursday night at Becknell Gymnasium.

The Scots (13-8, 10-5) got 19 points from Israel Palmer, 17 points from Frank Toney, who also had a double-double with 11 assists. Nikola SaSaroga scored 15 points, Malik Madison had a double-double with 12 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots. Trenton Bell scored 10 points, and had seven rebounds, John Paul Morgan added eight points, Jones White scored four points and Jaaron Harriott added a basket.

Madison started the scoring for the Scots with all alley-oop slam dunk off an assist by Toney. Palmer made a free throw, McCullough scored inside, SaSaroga scored and Palmer hit on a layup to tie the game at 9-9. Morgan scored and SaSaroga hit a jumper. Palmer scored again, but Greenville went up 26-15 before SaSarogra put in a layup. Madison got another dunk, then McCullough and SaSaroga scored for the Scots.
Palmer made a layup, Morgan scored inside and Harriott added two free throws, Palmer made two from the line and Bell hit a running jump shot, but Greenville led 44-33 with 8:11 to go in the first half.
McCullough scored, SaSaroga completed a three-point play, Palmer hit a jumper and McCullough scored again to cut the Greenville lead to five points with 5:21 to go in the half, 47-42. 
Morgan scored again, but it was 62-44 before Madison got his third dunk of the game. Toney hit a jumper and Palmer added a free throw, but Lyon trailed 67-49 at halftime.

SaSaroga scored to start the third quarter, but Greenville led by 29 points with 16:57 to go, 81-52. McCullough made a layup, SaSaroga and White scored baskets, Morgan scored, Palmer hit two free throws and Palmer made a jumper to make it 89-64. 
Palmer made two more free throws, Bell connected on a three-pointer, then Toney and Bell put in fast-break layups, but with 10:55 to go in the game, Greenville led 100-73. 
McCullough made a jumper, Bell made a three-pointer and McCullough put in two free throws. McCullough completed a three-point play, Toney made a jumper, McCullough came back with a layup, added two free throws and Madison got another dunk. Toney and McCullough put in layups and White hit two free throws to cut the Greenville lead to 114-96 with 4:15 to play. 
Toney made three three-pointers in a row and McCullough made two free throws to cut the lead to 13 points, 123-110. McCullough scored two more baskets and Madison added bucket for the Scots to end the game.
